The existing house, comprising approximately 380 m² distributed across three levels, is comprehensively renovated and adapted to meet contemporary living standards while preserving its original character.
The basement is converted into a wellness level with a spa, sauna and fitness area. A large sliding door opens onto a sunken terrace, providing natural daylight and direct access to the outdoor space. On the ground floor, a carefully integrated extension opens the house towards the garden, creating an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area complemented by a library.
Subtle changes in floor levels, materiality and spatial proportions define individual zones while maintaining a continuous and cohesive spatial experience. A separate guest house is introduced within the garden, extending the living environment and strengthening the connection between architecture and landscape. The upper floor accommodates a generous primary suite with an en suite bathroom and a large terrace overlooking the garden, alongside additional guest rooms and utility spaces.
The building envelope is thermally upgraded and reinterpreted with a contemporary façade that draws on the architectural language of the Bavarian vernacular.
A consistent palette of natural materials and muted green tones references both the surrounding Alpine landscape and the existing building. Existing trees and landscape elements are carefully retained and integrated into the design, reinforcing the relationship between the house and its garden.
