Located in Erding, the single-family house occupies a long and narrow site. In response to these constraints, the design condenses the 280m² of living space into a compact, square volume. This strategy maximizes the south-facing façade, garden access, and views while creating a clear and efficient spatial organization.
Local building regulations required a pitched roof, resulting in a monolithic form that combines roof and façade into a single architectural expression. Carefully positioned cuts carve terraces, balconies, and outdoor rooms into the volume.
On the ground floor, recessed terraces provide intimate and sheltered extensions of the living areas and guest appartment. On the upper floor, balconies are  integrated into the building mass, creating a variety of outdoor spaces with distinct orientations and views.
The building is conceived as a monolithic concrete structure, including the roof. The recessed openings are clad in timber, contrasting the rough and robust concrete shell with a warm and tactile materiality.
The ground floor opens towards the south and the garden, forming a fluid sequence of living, dining, and kitchen spaces. A transparent glazed entrance corridor connects the main house with an adjoining volume containing two parking spaces and an atelier above, creating a clear transition between arrival, work, and living.
The result is a compact yet spacious family home that transforms the limitations of the site into a strong architectural identity, balancing solidity and openness, privacy and landscape.
